This was some kind of art ‘installation’ in a funky building our funky friends Graham & Kate took us to when we were over visiting funky Amsterdam. It was funky – there were 64 light bulbs suspended from the ceiling, in a square. Not entirely sure why…..
Also, this post is The First Automated Post using SmugPress, my own WordPress plug-in that integrates Smugmug photos into my WordPress photoblog.
I’ve been developing this since the blog began, but this is it now working in a releasable state. The work-flow is as follows:
- Upload photo to a “PhotoBlog Images” folder in Smugmug.
- Log Into WordPress. Navigate to Manage->SmugPress Images.
- Select your photo from the list, click “Create Draft”, then type in the post text.
- There is no step 4.
I’m hoping to distribute an beta release soon. If interested, let me know.
Change to demo WordPress.

Nice, you got WordPress up and running then I guess?
How is it working in production?

Well, I still have to visit my smugmug site to manually upload the photos.
Apart from that it’s “feature complete”, and all I need to do is add some bells n whistles. Also, want to tidy up the source before anyone else casts a critical eye over it.. then decide on a licence, most likely GPL.

Next thing he will do is automate all the comments from all of us with suitable ass kissing comments – all available in a wee drop down box.
So – I am goin to insert the word Eskimo in this posting for no reason what so ever – just so that it probably wont be used again

Now that I see the photo on the site… I wish I’d risked serious burns to clean off some of the muck and marks.
Although I like the concept, am sure I have a dimmer switch and a spare bulb socket kicking around….
