Myself and Mike took a trip down to Portencross (North Ayrshire) on Saturday.
We weren’t entirely sure what we’d see down there, or what sort of photos we were even looking for, but a good time was had, and a few alright shots were taken. I wish I’d spent a bit more time on this one, as I have totally overblown the highlights of the clouds. Still, I quite liked the shot, so it gets published.
Really am trying to get back into frequent photo submissions, its just that I’ve had to lug a rather bulky old steam-powered laptop around for the last week or so (long story!), so haven’t been taking my camera with me during the day.

Lovely shot. The overblown highlights don’t notice tooo much, and somehow make that piece of sky seem brighter. I love the ragged silhouette in the foreground. Makes it look like the photo’s been torn.

I really like the light streaming down over the mountains.

Yeah, I agree with CurlyToes – I didn’t even notice the blown highlights at first. Very nice shot.

I agree with you that the clouds are a bit ‘out there’ but the rest of the photo surely makes up for it. The shore, the water, the boat, the mountains, the sunlight…all- WOW!
