Kicking Leaves.

Kicking Leaves.

Immediately after taking this shot, I just had to charge between those trees and kick all the leaves around!

I’m getting a bit “same old, same old” about the Autumn shots – the colours are great this time of year, but I feel this has became rather formulaic. I’ve been experimenting with some of the earlier shots in Black & White, and although I think some of them are strong, I always feel the colour really does make the scene. However I quite like the look of this, so I’m publishing it, back-to-back with the full colour “original”, which can be seen in the immediately prior post.

Also, I loaded up my first ever spool of slide film this evening, so that should be exciting. I’ll keep you all informed, although I think it’ll take more than a few spools before I produce anything publishable. Watch this space :-)

Definitely prefer the colour version. The colours are just lovely. The sky looks weird in this version, and, quite honestly, as I’ve said before, I find black and white and sepia shots very formulaic.

I prefer both, for two different reasons. The black and white, for the line of trees and the white appearance of the leaves; and the colour, for the contrast between the leaves under the trees, and the empty field.

Come on Ana…. prefer means choosing one over the other! :-)

I know what you mean, they are entirely different shots, rather than just the same shot made B&W. The colour one has been made sharp, whereas the B&W has deliberately soft focus.
