Went out tonight to the far west of Glasgow, to the Milngavie and Bearsden area.
Although I was quietly confident for a good sunset, neither of us could believe the amazing hues that we would encounter over the course of 20 minutes. As the sun began to slip over the horizon, there appeared to be a gathering of clouds over the east side, building up over the hills into a spectacular wall of turmoil in the sky.
The setting sun, with perhaps some help from some volcanic ash cloud, lit the clouds in a slightly ethereal manner. It was amazing. Both Mike and I almost entirely forgot to take pictures.
We were shooting near a stables, and most fields had horses in them. This lone horse sat apart from the others, and seemed quite content, oblivious to the scenery around it.
