Field of Dreams

Took Baby Jacob out for his first trip to the park today, and brought the camera along. Wanted to get a few pics of Bailey Basset, as, well, I feel the wee guy has been left out a little recently, what with all the attention on the baby.
Saying that, all our visitors are making a [...]

Announcing Jacob Graham

I reaaaaaally don’t have much time, but I wanted to post this up.
I’m delighted to announce the safe arrival of Jacob Graham, born on 29th June 2010, at 11:09pm He weighed in at 7lbs 3oz (3.2kg). Both mother and son are doing spectacularly well, and am hopeful they’ll get out today.
This could mean that the [...]

Work, Rest and Play.

Someone left this Mars Bar sitting on the wall of the greyhound track, and I couldn’t resist a wee silly snap.
Still no news on the baby front. Fingers crossed we get an appearance this week!

The Final Race at Shawfield.

A shot taken on the last race of the night… just as the sky was starting to turn twilighty, and the track floodlights were having an effect on the illumination.
Despite having watched the dogs many times, I was still blown away by the speed in which they passed… this blurry capture was the best I [...]

An evening in Pollok Park.

Taken during walkies last night. As sunset is now around 10pm, and it doesn’t get proper dark until 11pm at least, it’s very difficult to get decent twilight pictures at this time of year.
So, this was taken earlier in the evening, the sun has started to set, but there’s still a lot of light around.
p.s. [...]

The Reservoir Overflow.

As soon as I got to the car park at Carron Valley, I saw this tiny stream on the edge of the forest. The surrounding ground is flat and a bit marshy, as this is part of the overflow area to the reservoir, so I think it frequently gets flooded.
Wish I could’ve stayed right here [...]

Carron Valley Reservoir.

After some photography in the Kilsyth area a fortnight ago, our friends suggested that “Tak ma doon” road be visited, as it gives stunning views over the vast flat ground that makes up the central belt of Scotland.
I noticed that this headed up towards “Carron Valley Reservoir” which is another place I really wanted to [...]

Looking North from Conic Hill.

Conic Hill, on the East side of Loch Lomond has to be THE photography jaunt of choice in the early summer. Sunsets are frequently good, you get plenty of exercise climbing to the top, and there’s a rather splendid pub at the foot of the hill. What’s not to like?

Carlos says hullo.

I knew as soon as I saw Carlos in the stable yard, I’d definitely be putting a shot of him up on the blog. He’s got such a marvellous expression, and great colours.
I’m hopeful to get a shot of him out in the fields at some point, but for now, this snapshot will have to [...]

Enchanted Shelter.

Another shot from last Thursdays drizzly evening.
We were in Colzium Estate, near Kilsyth and I already felt I had a few passable shots, so was just waiting on others to finish. This was taken while hiding under another similarly leafy bough. A fine misty drizzle was cutting through the woodland, giving everything a saturated but [...]
